Bud Paine began in the Fire Service and EMS in the mid-1970s in Arizona. He is currently an Idaho and Nationally Registered Paramedic. He is also an Idaho EMS Instructor through Paramedic 2011. 75% of his career has been dedicated to rural and remote agencies. He has also worked as a Paramedic in large urban centers in Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon in the 1980s. Prior to moving to Idaho in 2015, he was the Fire Chief of a rural Arizona ALS Fire District.

Bud is a HazMat /WMD/CBRNE/BioHazard Specialist, a Verified AHLS (Advanced HazMat Life Support) ToxMedic and ToxMedic Instructor, a HazMat/WMD/CBRNE Large-Scale Drill Evaluator, a FEMA Instructor in ICS through the 400 level, and multiple HazMat/WMD/CBRNE and BioHazard program Instructor. He is also an Instructor for Technical Rope Rescue through the Technician level.
